It was invented in order to harmoniously develop one’s body: it stretches and strengthens the muscles, shapes the body, increases its tonicity, stimulates the blood flow and relaxes… one’s inner soul. This progressive program of gentle and adapted exercises develops the strength and flexibility of every part one’s body.
It is a series of controlled movements, carried out with specific equipment that improves one’s breathing, posture and coordination.
The Pilates principles are: centering, control, concentration, breathing, precision and flow.
